Today we were reminded that London will host the upcoming 2012 summer Olympic games. So our intrepid group took a photo at the countdown clock at Trafalgar's Square. The day was overcast but still no rain. We began the day at Westminster Abbey with a guided tour of the place that has seen the coronation of every British monarch since 1066. A quick tube ride to Piccadilly Circus allowed students some free time to eat lunch and explore. Our afternoon saw us at the British Museum, where our students were able to cover 5000 years of world history in an hour and a half, thanks in no small part to our guide Elizabeth.
After dinner at the Spaghetti House, the group enjoyed some free time at Trafalgar's Square climbing on the bronze lions and generally having a good time. Our evening concluded with front row seats for the west end show, The 39 Steps. Four actors playing multiple parts had our group roaring with laughter. Safely back at the hotel we look forward to Bath and Stonehenge tomorrow. Stay tune for updates and photos.
