So we come to the final day in London. We awoke to a brilliantly sunny day. Our first stop was souvenir shopping at the Hard rock Cafe....actually the original hard rock cafe. A short tube ride found us at Churchill's cabinet war rooms, where Churchill directed much of WWII.
From there another tube ride took us to Southwark, and to Shakespeare's Globe Theater. We were fortunate enough to see a rehearsal for the play Macbeth, and later participated in a workshop by a Shakespearean actor. Walking past the shadow of St. Paul's Cathedral we boarded the tube for London's west end theater district.
Here the students were treated to another workshop, this time looking at the use of music in theater. The students were given the opportunity to compose and present thier own original sketches infront of trained actors. A good time was had by one and all, and it is certain that we have many talented thespians among our students.
After dining on italian cuisine, we took in the the West End smash hit, We Will Rock You- and we did just that! Let us end this end this trip with apologies to Churchill, He said "We are all worms, but I (and Mr. Ellis and Mr. Zeal) are glow worms."
Thanks for the memories London....see you next year.
